OpenAI expands Daybreak AI security platform with major vendor partnerships

OpenAI announced the Daybreak cyber‑security framework, a suite of AI tools—including Codex Security, GPT‑5.5‑Cyber and the Patch the Planet initiative—to speed the identification, validation and remediation of software vulnerabilities, especially in open‑source projects.

Check Point Software Technologies has been admitted to the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program and will embed OpenAI’s models directly into its security products, workflows and managed services to improve threat detection and incident response.

Proofpoint joined the same program, enabling its Satori platform and other services to use GPT‑5.5 for faster threat research, alert enrichment and automated incident triage while maintaining strict governance controls.

IBM partnered with OpenAI to offer an AI‑driven scanning service that integrates Daybreak models with IBM Consulting’s platform, supporting its Project Lightwell effort to automatically generate and test patches for widely used open‑source code.

All partners stress responsible AI use, trusted access controls and human oversight as core to the deployment of these advanced defenses.
