Propeep delivers furnished home to elderly farmer in Samaná

Nicolás Hilario, an 84-year-old farmer from the La Majagua community in Samaná, has received a new, furnished home after living for nearly 30 years in a precarious structure made of palm boards and zinc roofing.

The housing delivery is part of ‘Un Abrazo de Esperanza’ (A Hug of Hope), a national social program managed by the Presidency’s Directorate of Strategic and Special Projects (Propeep). The initiative aims to improve living conditions for vulnerable families and individuals across the country.

Yenny Chaljub, deputy director of Propeep, led the delivery on behalf of director Robert Polanco. She noted that while such projects may seem small to some, they provide essential dignity and tranquility to those in need.
