Proper Care Tips for Swimwear and Laundry to Extend Fabric Lifespan

Experts advise hand‑washing swimwear in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, soaking briefly, rinsing gently and avoiding harsh scrubbing or high‑heat drying. When using a machine, select a low‑temperature, delicate program, place the garments in a mesh bag and use a low‑heat dryer or air‑dry in shade to prevent colour fading and loss of elasticity.

Additional laundry guidance recommends leaving the washing‑machine door open after use to let the drum dry, removing clothes promptly, and ensuring the water temperature matches the program to avoid lingering odors. Regular high‑temperature cycles can reduce bacterial growth, and adding three tablespoons of baking soda and a cup of vinegar each wash helps neutralise smells and keeps fabrics soft without costly fabric‑softeners.
