Proper storage for medicines and perfumes to maintain efficacy

Storing medicines and perfumes in bathrooms can negatively impact their quality and effectiveness due to high humidity and temperature fluctuations.

A study by Nielsen indicates that one in four Germans stores medication in the bathroom, despite recommendations from the Federal Union of German Associations of Pharmacists (ABDA) to keep drugs in cool, dry, and dark locations such as hallways or bedrooms. High humidity in bathrooms and kitchens can cause medications to lose potency. It is also advised to use lockable cabinets to keep medicines out of reach of children.

Similarly, perfumes are sensitive to bathroom environments. Factors in the bathroom can damage fragrance compositions. To preserve scents, they should be kept away from moisture and heat.
