Proper storage methods for bell peppers

To maintain freshness and nutritional value, bell peppers should not be stored in the refrigerator. Because they originate from warm regions, they are sensitive to cold temperatures. Storing them in a refrigerator can cause them to become mushy and lose nutrients.

The ideal storage conditions for bell peppers are dark environments with temperatures between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius. Pantries or unheated basements are recommended locations, which can keep the peppers fresh for up to two weeks.
