Property tax deadlines approach for San Juan and King counties

Property owners in San Juan and King counties face upcoming deadlines for the second half of 2026 property taxes.

In San Juan County, the deadline is Saturday, October 31. The Treasurer’s Office notes that payments received after this date will incur a 1% interest charge on outstanding balances. Residents can pay online via a dedicated portal, by mail to Friday Harbor, or via a secure drop box at the courthouse entrance.

In King County, the deadline for property owners paying directly is Monday, November 2. This extension from the standard October 31 deadline is due to the date falling on a Saturday. Payments can be made through the King County eCommerce system, by mail (must be postmarked by November 2), in person at the Customer Service Center in Seattle, or via a secure drop box at the King Street Center.
