Prosalud to open new Botica Express in Chacarilla, Surco

Prosalud has announced the mid-August opening of a new 40 m² Botica Express format in the Chacarilla commercial area of Santiago de Surco. Located on Av. Primavera, the new outlet aims to serve local residents and workers with a specialized catalog including medicines, dermocosmetics, childcare, elderly care, home care, and nutrition products.

The expansion follows a structural shift in how Peruvians access healthcare. Data from the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) indicates that 20.5% of Peruvians go directly to pharmacies for health issues. Furthermore, the Peruvian Institute of Economy (IPE) reports that primary care sought through pharmacies has risen significantly among EsSalud affiliates, from 8% in 2004 to 23% in 2022, and among SIS affiliates, from 6% to 32% in the same period.

Guillermo Quintana, Prosalud’s Director of Expansion, stated that pharmacies have become a primary health refuge for Peruvian families. The new location is designed for efficiency, featuring ample parking and a structured rapid delivery channel for the Surco district and surrounding areas.
