Prosecution investigator sentenced for leaking Lee Sun-kyun investigation details

A prosecution investigator has been sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years, for leaking investigation information regarding the late actor Lee Sun-kyun. The Incheon District Court ruled that the defendant, a 45-year-old investigator at the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office, leaked details concerning Lee's drug use investigation to a local newspaper reporter.

The court found that the defendant used information acquired through his official duties to provide updates on the investigation's progress. While the defendant denied the charges, claiming the information was already common knowledge, the judge determined the leak undermined public trust in law enforcement. The defendant has since been removed from his position.
