Prosecutor seeks 17 years for Ski double murder defendant

In the trial regarding a double murder in Ski that occurred in December 2024, prosecutor Trude Sparre has requested a sentence of 17 years in prison for the defendant. The woman is accused of killing her mother and brother.

The defendant has admitted to the killings. During the proceedings, evidence was presented regarding the poor living conditions in the home and the deteriorating economic situation of the family. The defendant testified that she suffered from mental illness while caring for her elderly mother and disabled brother, a claim supported by two forensic psychiatric evaluations.

Despite these findings, the prosecution maintains that the defendant possessed the capacity to understand her actions at the time of the crimes. Sparre stated, “I believe she has criminal responsibility.” If the court finds the defendant was not legally sane at the time of the acts, the prosecution has requested she be transferred to compulsory mental health care.
