Alexander K., known as Maschsee-Mörder, sentenced to ten years in prison
The Düsseldorf District Court has sentenced Alexander K., known as the “Maschsee-Mörder,” to ten years in prison followed by preventive detention. The 38-year-old was found guilty of hostage-taking and bodily harm involving his former partner in Düsseldorf.
According to the court, the defendant threatened, mistreated, and imprisoned the 34-year-old woman in her apartment last December. The presiding judge, Alexandra Bernardy, rejected the defendant's claims that the accusations were an intrigue, noting that evidence in seized chats confirmed the victim's account. A psychiatric expert classified Alexander K. as a dangerous habitual offender with a high risk of recidivism, describing him as antisocial, narcissistic, and aggressive.
Alexander K. is a repeat offender previously convicted in 2013 for the murder of a prostitute in Hannover. In that case, he killed and dismembered a 44-year-old woman before disposing of her body parts in the Maschsee. Following his release from that sentence in 2025, he reportedly built a social media following on TikTok, where he marketed himself as an influencer despite his criminal history.
