Prosecutors charge two women in Tinder-linked robbery

Prosecutors in Mariano Roque Alonso, Paraguay, have formally accused two women of participating in a robbery that began through the dating application Tinder. According to the investigation led by prosecutor Blanca Zaracho, one of the accused used a fictitious profile under the name ‘Agustina’ to establish contact with the victim.

The prosecution alleges that after building trust and arranging a meeting at an apartment in the Altamira Surubí’i housing complex, the woman administered a sedative substance to the victim. While the man was incapacitated, the suspects allegedly stole various valuables, including approximately USD 5,000, EUR 6,000, and Gs. 500,000, as well as electronic devices, a tablet, a computer, and vehicle keys.

Investigators utilized security camera footage and financial records to build the case. The prosecution is now seeking to move the case toward an oral and public trial.
