Prosecutors Seek 10-Year Prison Terms in Rape Cases in Suriname and Netherlands

In the Netherlands, prosecutors have demanded a nine‑year prison term for 37‑year‑old Kevin de N. of Breskens, who is charged with seven rapes of his girlfriend between 2021 and 2023 and for arranging her rape by five of his friends. The prosecution also sought three‑year sentences for three accomplices, one of which would be partly suspended. The case involved allegations of coercion, drug use, and a “concerning relationship” reported to child‑protection services when the victim was 17.
