ProSieben announces new format for ‘The Masked Singer’ season 13

ProSieben is launching the 13th season of ‘The Masked Singer’ on September 16, featuring significant changes to the show’s format and scale. The upcoming season will feature 16 masked celebrities, the highest number in the history of the German version.

To increase tension and pace, the competition structure has been modified. In the first four episodes, four masked contestants will compete against each other in each show. By the end of these episodes, two participants must reveal their identities, while the remaining two advance directly to the semifinals.

Chris Tall and Verona Pooth will return to the judging panel, joined by a rotating guest each week. Matthias Opdenhövel continues as the host. The production is also moving toward a pre-recorded format, similar to versions in the US and UK, to better accommodate the busy schedules of celebrity participants.
