Prosiwangi Toll Road opens Gending-Paiton segment

The Gending-Paiton segment of the Probolinggo-Situbondo-Banyuwangi (Prosiwangi) toll road, spanning 23.515 kilometers, officially began operations on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. PT Jasamarga Probolinggo Banyuwangi (JPB) has implemented a 14-day free access period for this segment as part of a socialization phase to introduce the new route and its facilities to the public.

While the segment is free for travel between the Kraksaan and Paiton toll gates, drivers traveling continuously from Surabaya or Malang toward the Gending segment must still pay the Trans Java Toll Road rates until the Gending toll gate. Users are required to tap their electronic money cards at the toll booths even during the free period.

Once the full Prosiwangi toll network is operational, the travel time from Probolinggo to Banyuwangi is projected to decrease from approximately five hours to roughly three hours. The new segment also improves access to various tourist destinations, including Pantai Duta, Pantai Bohay, and Ranu Agung.
