Prosperidad Social reschedules Renta Ciudadana payments to September

Prosperidad Social has announced the rescheduling of the fourth payment cycle for the Renta Ciudadana and VAT Compensation programs to September. This delay follows a technical review regarding the implementation of the Universal Income Registry (RUI).

In coordination with the National Planning Department (DNP), the agency is evaluating the technical consistency of the RUI and its impact on beneficiary households. The transition to new focalization and permanence criteria is expected to affect approximately 49% of the households currently receiving these transfers.

The Renta Ciudadana program currently reaches about 700,000 households, providing transfers of up to $500,000 every two months. The fourth cycle, originally scheduled to begin on August 21, will be rescheduled once the necessary technical, legal, and operational conditions for the RUI transition are met.
