Prostate cancer awareness campaigns launch in Mexico and Argentina
Health institutions and local governments in Mexico and Argentina are promoting prostate cancer awareness during November, often referred to as Blue November.
In Mexico, health experts highlight the critical need for early detection, noting that approximately 70% of patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage. Data from 2025 indicated 7,595 new cases and 7,173 deaths in Mexico, making it the leading cause of cancer death for men over 60. While age and family history are primary risk factors, specialists emphasize that early diagnosis is essential for effective treatment.
In Ituzaingó, Argentina, the Municipal Diagnostic Center (CEDIM) is conducting a Blue Month campaign. The initiative offers free PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) blood tests to individuals aged 40 and older without requiring a medical prescription. Experts note that early detection can increase cure possibilities by 90%.
