Prostate cancer awareness campaigns launch in Quebec and Arue

The Quebec-based organization PROCURE has launched the 13th edition of its Noeudvembre charity campaign. Aiming to raise $1 million, the initiative involves 40 public figures from the arts, sports, and media sectors to encourage discussion and break taboos surrounding prostate cancer. Funds will support PROCURE’s pillars of awareness, information, support, and research. Notably, PROCURE and the Canadian Cancer Research Society recently announced a joint $3 million investment into six innovative research projects focusing on biomarkers, medical imaging, precision nutrition, and targeted therapies.

In Arue, the Arue en Santé program is hosting a public debate on November 5 to promote prevention. The event features Dr. Natethida Nouanesengsy and urologist Fabien Raynaud, who will discuss symptoms such as frequent nighttime urination and sudden urgency. The discussion aims to inform residents that diagnostic options, such as PSA blood tests, can provide information without the necessity of a rectal exam.
