Protectt.ai to acquire controlling stake in Bosch-incubated AIShield
Cybersecurity startup Protectt.ai plans to acquire a controlling stake in AIShield, an AI security platform originally incubated within Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW). Under the terms of the deal, Bosch will retain a minority stake, while AIShield will continue to operate as an independent entity with its own management team.
The transaction involves a combination of primary share issuance and secondary purchases, including cash and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs). While the specific transaction value and timeline have not been disclosed, Protectt.ai intends to use the acquisition to expand its mobile security platform into enterprise AI security, focusing on protecting machine learning models, generative AI applications, and AI supply chains.
Protectt.ai, which is backed by Bessemer Venture Partners and Bajaj Finance, aims to grow AIShield’s workforce from approximately 15 employees to between 50 and 60 by March. The company is also exploring further acquisitions in API and cloud security to build a full-stack AI security platform.
