Protest at Defense Minister Katz’s Home Demands Release of Detainee Tal Dardik
Around 100 demonstrators gathered outside the residence of Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz in Kfar Achim, calling for the cancellation of an administrative detention order against Tal Yinon Dardik. Dardik, held without trial under a order signed by Central Command Major‑General Avi Bluth, has been on a 23‑day hunger strike and was recently hospitalized with a critically low pulse. Protesters, including Likud activists, family members, bereaved parents and rabbis, urged Katz to intervene, arguing that administrative orders lack evidence and legal recourse.
The demonstration reflects growing criticism of Israel’s administrative detention system, which allows indefinite confinement without charge. Participants demanded that Katz use his authority to revoke the order and secure Dardik’s release.
