Santiago del Estero inaugurates Plaza de las Ciencias

The Plaza de las Ciencias has been inaugurated in the Alberdi neighborhood of Santiago del Estero. Located at the intersection of Avenida Belgrano and Bolivia, the 5,411-square-meter public space is designed to promote scientific learning and family recreation through interactive installations.

The park features several thematic sectors, including areas dedicated to Energy and Motion, Sound, Optics, and the Water Cycle. These zones use physical devices and hydraulic dynamics to teach principles of physics, acoustics, light reflection, and water conservation. A large equatorial sundial serves as a central scientific landmark at the main entrance.

The inauguration was attended by Governor Elías Suárez and Mayor Norma Fuentes, along with various provincial and municipal authorities. Officials emphasized that the space aims to make science accessible to children and young people through play and experimentation.
