Protests in Peru and Colombia demand severance of ties with Israel

Protests in support of Palestine have taken place in Lima, Peru, and Bogotá, Colombia, as part of a broader international mobilization.

In Lima, student collectives and human rights organizations organized a march scheduled for October 10. The demonstrators are calling on the Peruvian government to sever diplomatic and commercial ties with Israel and to implement an arms embargo. Protesters also advocated for a citizen boycott of Israeli products.

In Bogotá, hundreds of demonstrators marched under the slogan ‘The genocide continues’ to protest the Colombian government's decision to restore diplomatic relations with Israel. The march, which began near the Israeli Embassy, featured participants wearing kufiyas and carrying large Palestinian flags to demand an end to military operations in Gaza and the West Bank.
