Protests organized in Germany against militarization and state repression
Protests are being organized in Germany to address international conflicts and human rights concerns. In Dresden, the Antimilitarismus Initiative has called for an Easter March under the motto ‘Refuse wars – create peace’. The demonstration aims to protest global militarization, nuclear arms races, and ongoing conflicts in regions including Ukraine, Sudan, Congo, Gaza, and Iran. Organizers are calling for increased investment in social welfare, climate protection, and education instead of military spending.
In Halle, the Föderation Klassenkämpferischer Organisationen (FKO) has scheduled a demonstration at Steintor to protest against state repression and violence in Turkey. The protest follows allegations from a German activist who reported being detained, physically assaulted, and sexually assaulted by Turkish authorities while on a delegation trip to North Kurdistan in January 2026. The demonstration seeks to show international solidarity with victims of state-sanctioned violence and repression.
