Protests scheduled in Angoulême and Cognac for October 31

Multiple demonstrations are scheduled for Saturday, October 31, in the Charente region of France. In Angoulême, the CGT and Force Ouvrière unions have organized a march starting at 10:30 a.m. from the Angoulême train station. This mobilization focuses on the rising cost of living, wages, and fuel prices.

Additional gatherings are planned for the afternoon in Angoulême at the city hall and the Girac roundabout. In Cognac, a separate demonstration is set for 2:00 p.m. at Place François-Ier. This Cognac rally, involving groups such as the CGT, LFI, PCF, Confédération paysanne, and the Nous Toutes feminist collective, serves as a precursor to a larger strike planned for November 5. Their demands include improvements to wages, pensions, public services, and working conditions, alongside protests against racism and discrimination.
