Protomartyr announces seventh studio album ‘Hotel Usona’

Detroit post-punk band Protomartyr has announced their seventh studio album, titled ‘Hotel Usona’, scheduled for release in 2026 via Domino Recording Co. The album was recorded at Tarbox Road Studios in New York with producer Dave Fridmann.

Lyrically, the album uses the metaphor of an aging hotel to explore contemporary American social and political issues. Themes include artificial intelligence, deportation, nationalism, and political figures. Musically, the band incorporates new influences such as Middle Eastern sounds and 1950s exotica, blending their signature abrasive post-punk style with brass instruments and electric guitars.
