Protomartyr release new single “Feed the Sewer”

Detroit post-punk band Protomartyr has released “Feed the Sewer,” the second single from their upcoming album, Hotel Usona. The album is scheduled for release on September 25 via Domino.

Frontman Joe Casey describes the song as a commentary on artificial intelligence and the idea that humanity may sacrifice the world for the sake of convenience. The track is characterized by loud music intended to mimic the sound of a data center.

The new single is accompanied by a music video directed by Andrew Theodore Balasia, featuring actor Nate Varrone. The video explores themes of loneliness and surveillance, using a motel setting as a microcosm for data collection and monitoring.
