Proton launches Proton Capital to provide dedicated automotive financing

National automaker Proton has launched Proton Capital Sdn Bhd, a dedicated automotive financing arm designed to make vehicle ownership more accessible. The new entity aims to provide an integrated and efficient financing experience by working closely with Proton’s authorized dealer network.

In its initial phase, Proton Capital will serve eligible individual customers—including salaried and self-employed individuals—through 12 participating outlets in the Klang Valley. The company has already authorized 10 dealership groups to offer its services. Currently, the firm offers conventional hire-purchase financing for new vehicles, including a standard fixed-rate package and a specific package for the Proton S70 under the Teksi Madani programme.

Proton Capital plans to expand its product range progressively. Future offerings are expected to include financing tailored for e-hailing customers and Shariah-compliant options, which are targeted for introduction in early November. The company aims to provide initial credit decisions within one working day, subject to individual assessments of income, credit information, and repayment affordability.
