Proud Poppy founder Tara McKeon regains control after administration

Tara McKeon has regained control of her inclusive womenswear brand, Proud Poppy, following a period of administration that began in early August. Creditors from Hall Chadwick voted to allow McKeon to continue owning and operating the fashion label through a Deed of Company Arrangement (Doca).

Founded in 2019, Proud Poppy specializes in inclusive clothing with sizes ranging from six to 30. While the company previously operated seven standalone stores, it will continue trading through its three remaining physical locations and its online platform.

McKeon noted that the administration followed a series of store closures and product portfolio reductions. She described the outcome as a ‘new era’ for the business, acknowledging the support of staff and suppliers while noting the difficult economic conditions currently facing small businesses in Australia.
