The injured woman fell approximately five meters during an exploratory climb, resulting in a suspected compound ankle fracture. The accident took place roughly 1.5 hours from the cave entrance in a subhorizontal section of the cave, which has an explored length of over 4,100 meters.

The rescue involved a coordinated effort between Italian technicians from the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps (CNSAS) and 30 rescuers from the Mountain Rescue Service Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The operation, which concluded at 16:00 on September 10, included specialized medical consultation and technical assistance to navigate the difficult cave morphology. The injured individual was eventually handed over to emergency medical services.
