Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur officials warn of corruption risks
François de Canson, Vice-President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, has emphasized the importance of public transparency and warned of corruption risks during a visit by Jean Maïa, President of the Haute Autorité pour la transparence de la vie publique (HATVP).
Speaking in Marseille, de Canson highlighted the measures implemented by the Sud Region since 2016 to prevent conflicts of interest, including a code of ethics for elected officials and the establishment of a deontology commission. He noted that past corruption scandals in local authorities have damaged public trust. Additionally, de Canson issued a warning regarding potential attempts by drug trafficking networks to infiltrate public institutions.
