Providence School breaks ground on permanent Santa Barbara campus

Providence School has broken ground on its first permanent campus in Santa Barbara, California. Located on the 600 block of Ortega Street, the new site will serve middle and upper school students in grades 7 through 12.

The project involves renovating a historic building at the former Girls Inc. property to include classrooms, offices, and a science center. Additionally, a new two-story structure will be constructed to house a 300-seat gymnasium, a prayer chapel, and performing arts spaces. The campus is expected to accommodate up to 250 students.

Currently, the school's preschool through 6th-grade students attend the San Roque campus, while older students utilize leased portable buildings on Canon Perdido Street. Once the Ortega Street campus is completed, which is estimated to take two to three years, the school will end its lease on the Canon Perdido location.
