The Colombian island of Providencia has been named by Lonely Planet as one of the recommended travel destinations for 2026. The international guide describes the location as a “sun-drenched paradise,” highlighting its beaches, natural landscapes, and relaxed atmosphere.

Located within the San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina Archipelago, the island is noted for its remote and tranquil environment. A significant draw for visitors is the underwater ecosystem, which includes part of the world’s third-largest coral reef system. This area offers opportunities for diving and observing marine life such as turtles, rays, and reef sharks in crystal-clear waters.
