Province of Pisa implements traffic restrictions on SRT 206 bridge

The Province of Pisa has implemented traffic changes on the SRT 206 ‘Pisana-Livornese’ in Montacchiello to facilitate extraordinary maintenance on the Fosso di Titignano bridge. Following a technical inspection on September 15, officials identified increased degradation of the bridge's structural elements, necessitating immediate precautionary measures to ensure public safety.

Specific traffic modifications include a symmetrical reduction of the roadway to 6 meters while maintaining two-way traffic. Additionally, the maximum speed limit in the affected stretch (from km 40+500 to km 40+550) has been reduced to 30 km/h.

The initial intervention is being funded by 265,000 euros allocated by the Tuscany Region. However, the Province noted that a total of 450,000 euros is required to complete the full maintenance of both infrastructures at the site.
