Province of Siena advances Ponte a Nove Luci reconstruction

The Province of Siena has initiated a new phase in the reconstruction of the Ponte a Nove Luci over the Orcia River. Located on the SP 18/E road between the municipalities of Castiglione d’Orcia and Pienza, the project aims to restore vital local connectivity lost due to severe flood damage.

A simplified service conference has been convened to examine the feasibility document regarding design alternatives. This process will gather assessments and requirements from authorities responsible for environmental, landscape, and safety protections. These findings will form the basis for the subsequent Technical and Economic Feasibility Project required for the public tender.

The project has an estimated total value of 13 million euros. Due to its scale, the design and construction must utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology, as mandated by the new Public Contracts Code for works exceeding two million euros.
