Province of Siena approves €1.67 million for landslide repairs

The Provincial Council of Siena has approved a budget variation to allocate €1,670,000 for extraordinary maintenance and the securing of road infrastructure following five recent landslides. The funds aim to restore critical sections of provincial roads currently subject to traffic limitations, such as alternating one-way traffic and traffic lights.

Specific projects include: • €420,000 for the SP 60 between Asciano and Pecorile. • €350,000 for slope consolidation on the SP 1 in San Gimignano. • €500,000 for the SP 53 in Val d’Orcia. • €400,000 for the SP 39 in Abbadia San Salvatore. • €670,000 for landslide consolidation on the SP 321.

Provincial President Agnese Carletti stated that the funding, sourced from budget management and administrative surpluses, is intended to ensure mobility and safety across the Val d’Orcia, Val d’Elsa, Val d’Chiana, and Crete Senesi regions.
