Province of Teramo seeks 323,000 euros from Campli
The Province of Teramo has requested that the Municipality of Campli transfer 323,778.74 euros in TEFA funds. TEFA is a provincial environmental protection tax collected by the municipality alongside waste management fees.
According to provincial records covering the period from 2010 to 2025, approximately 788,249.42 euros were collected, but only 464,470.68 euros were transferred to the province. This discrepancy has raised questions regarding the municipality's financial management and transparency.
In addition to the TEFA dispute, concerns have been raised regarding the municipality's 2025 budget, which lists 1,697,365.01 euros under 'tax debts,' a figure that was zero in 2024. The mayor has stated that these figures represent items on the balance sheet rather than direct tax debts, but local political groups are calling for further clarification on the actual exposure and the status of unpaid VAT.
