Province of Viterbo launches aid for earthquake-stricken Viterbo, Colombia

The Province of Viterbo in Italy is launching a fundraising initiative to support the city of Viterbo in the Caldas department of Colombia, which was severely impacted by an earthquake on August 10.

The Colombian town, which shares its name with the Italian city due to historical ties involving Cardinal Francesco Ragonesi, reported significant damage including 67 destroyed homes and 232 partially damaged structures. Local reports indicate 29 people were injured and treated at the San José hospital.

President Romoli of the Province of Viterbo has announced a decree to establish a dedicated account for subscriptions. The initiative aims to involve local municipalities across the Tuscia region to provide aid and potentially foster a more stable institutional relationship between the two communities.
