Provincia Grande to expand political presence in Tierra del Fuego for 2027
Martín Pérez, the Mayor of Río Grande, has confirmed that the political movement Provincia Grande intends to compete across the entire province of Tierra del Fuego in the 2027 elections. The group aims to establish a presence in all three major cities of the province and contest both provincial and municipal legislative seats.
Pérez stated that the movement seeks to expand its current territorial base in Río Grande to become a province-wide electoral alternative. He noted that Provincia Grande may run as an independent political party or join an electoral front, a decision to be discussed in the coming months. Additionally, Pérez emphasized that the movement will maintain a stance of total opposition to the national government of President Javier Milei.
Gastón Díaz, Secretary of Government for the Municipality of Río Grande, reinforced these plans, describing the movement as an option focused on management models that prioritize citizens over political maneuvering. Díaz also suggested that Provincia Grande represents sectors with Peronist roots that no longer feel represented by the Justicialist Party.
