Proyecta selects 12 film projects to boost Latin American and European co-productions

The ninth edition of Proyecta will take place during the Ventana Sur audiovisual market in Montevideo, Uruguay, from November 30 to December 4. The initiative, a joint effort between Ventana Sur, the Marché du Film of the Cannes Film Festival, and the San Sebastián International Film Festival, aims to strengthen co-production ties between Latin America and Europe.

Twelve film projects in development will be presented to production companies, international sales agents, and festival programmers. Nine of the selected projects originate from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Peru, or Uruguay, while seven involve majority production or co-production from Spain, France, or Italy.

Selected projects, including ‘Cara Sucia’ by Ignacio Acconcia González and ‘Isabel Hernández’ by Giorgio Giampà, will participate in in-person pitching sessions on December 2. Participants may also compete for various awards, including the opportunity to present at the Sørfond Pitching Forum or receive the Sideral Cinema Award.
