Përparim Rama, the Mayor of Pristina, was interviewed by the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) as a suspect regarding the “Capital Architect” project. The investigation focuses on a 12 million euro contract that was opened in 2022 with a planned 36 month duration.

Political opposition and civil society have criticized the tender, which was intended for consultancy services to establish a Capital Architect service for the municipality. Gëzim Sveçla, a member of the Vetëvendosje movement, claimed that the Municipality of Pristina paid over 1 million euros for services during October and November 2023 alone.

Suspicions surrounding the project include potential public procurement irregularities, staff manipulation, and conflicts of interest. While Rama has previously stated that the municipality requires such services due to administrative capacity limits, the legal proceedings are ongoing.
