Prudential expands Hong Kong insurance offerings for high-end and new arrival markets

Prudential has detailed its various medical and critical illness insurance offerings in the Hong Kong market. The company provides Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme (VHIS) products, which are eligible for tax deductions, alongside its PremierFlex Medical Plan. The PremierFlex plan offers broader coverage, including options for Greater China and global regions, with lifetime medical coverage limits reaching up to HKD 70 million.

Key features of the PremierFlex plan include access to over 14,000 hospitals in mainland China and value-added services such as medical green channels, second medical opinions, and direct billing for medical expenses in designated mainland hospitals. Additionally, Prudential offers the ‘Everlasting Protection’ critical illness plan, which features multiple compensation designs for cancer, heart disease, and stroke, with total compensation potentially reaching 1,000% of the insured amount.

To support new residents moving to Hong Kong, Prudential has launched the ‘Settling in Hong Kong’ plan. This specialized product covers basic medical needs, accidents, residence, emergency repatriation, and child education. Market research conducted by the company indicates that 80% of new arrivals consider or purchase insurance specifically to address healthcare needs during their initial integration into Hong Kong.
