Prysmian announces major manufacturing expansions in North Carolina and Tennessee
Prysmian, a global leader in energy and digital connection solutions, has announced significant manufacturing expansions in the United States.
In Claremont, North Carolina, Prysmian North America will invest over $1 billion to expand its existing facility. The project, described as the largest manufacturing undertaking in Catawba County history, is expected to be completed by 2030. The expansion will add approximately 900,000 square feet to the campus, including a new glass manufacturing facility to vertically integrate fiber production, additional cable production capacity, and expanded research and development centers. This project is projected to create more than 385 new jobs.
Additionally, the company is investing $100 million to expand its operations in Jackson, Tennessee. This project involves renovating and doubling the size of the existing facility in Madison County, which is expected to create 100 new jobs. Construction in Jackson is slated for completion in approximately 20 months.
Andrea Pirondini, CEO of Prysmian North America, stated that these investments support the growing U.S. demand for advanced digital solutions and reinforce the company's commitment to domestic manufacturing of fiber and optical cables.
