Przasnysz mass grave discovered containing remains of five victims

Researchers from the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) have discovered a mass grave containing the remains of five individuals in Przasnysz, Poland. The site was located at the edge of a garden belonging to the former District Office of Public Security (UB).

The discovery was made during search operations conducted in late August. Investigators utilized witness accounts, archival aerial photographs, and historical documents to locate the site. Among the remains, researchers found a religious medal, several buttons featuring the Polish eagle, and a firearm projectile.

The remains will undergo anthropological examinations and genetic testing to facilitate identification. The investigation is being led by the District Prosecution Commission against the Polish Nation in Białystok.
