Przybrodzin residents petition against local service zoning

Residents of Przybrodzin in the Powidz municipality have submitted a petition to the mayor opposing the designation of part of plot no. 54 as a service zone in the local general plan. The community expresses concerns that introducing service functions will lead to increased noise, higher traffic volumes, light and odor pollution, and additional strain on local roads and sewage systems. They argue the area should maintain its current residential and agricultural character to protect property values.

Mayor Jakub Gwit responded that the general plan is being developed under new regulations which require balancing housing needs with other land uses. He noted that current analyses show more land is already designated for housing than permitted by specific indicators, limiting the municipality's ability to create new residential zones. Gwit clarified that designating the plot as a service zone does not yet guarantee the construction of a specific facility, as detailed land use will be determined at a later stage.
