PS to defend CoLAB and CTI funding in 2027 State Budget

The Socialist Party (PS) has committed to defending stable funding for Collaborative Laboratories (CoLAB) and Technology and Innovation Centers (CTI) during the 2027 State Budget discussions. PS Secretary-General José Luís Carneiro emphasized the need for a continuous financing mechanism that remains stable even during transitions between European funding cycles, aiming to preserve the presence of these structures across various territories.

In a related political development, former Assembly of the Republic President Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues commented on the PS decision to abstain on the 2027 State Budget, which would allow its passage. Ferro Rodrigues praised the move as a way to prevent the far-right from gaining influence. However, he expressed concern regarding the Social Democratic Party (PSD), warning that the party risks losing its democratic standing by extending a hand to the far-right party Chega.
