PS5 Pro unlocks 4K 120 Hz gameplay for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
Sony confirmed that the PlayStation 5 Pro will run Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 with a suite of visual upgrades. The console will deliver native 4K resolution, a 120 Hz high‑frame‑rate mode, variable‑refresh‑rate (VRR) support, HDR and an upgraded version of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) that improves image quality at both 60 fps and 120 fps.
The PS5 Pro build also enables an unlocked frame‑rate when 120 Hz with VRR is active, giving competitive players smoother performance. Standard PlayStation features such as Adaptive Triggers, haptic feedback, 3D audio, Remote Play and a Low‑Energy mode are retained. The game’s story mode will be available to pre‑order customers from 16 October, with the full launch scheduled for 23 October. Microsoft’s Xbox announced that Modern Warfare 4 will no longer be a day‑one title on Game Pass, reflecting a shift in its day‑one release strategy.
These details were disclosed in a PlayStation Blog post that also highlighted new multiplayer modes, including the Kill Block mode and the Dreadnought armored vehicle for the DMZ map.
