PSD-M promotes organized grazing for land maintenance in Madeira

Deputies from the PSD-M parliamentary group visited a mountain area to observe organized grazing practices in collaboration with a local association. The initiative highlights how managed livestock can assist in land maintenance, cleaning, and the protection of the region's natural heritage while ensuring animal welfare.

Deputy Rafaela Fernandes emphasized that organized grazing requires a balance between landowner responsibility, animal welfare, and environmental conservation. She noted that the partnership with veterinary services ensures necessary medical monitoring and vaccination compliance. The PSD-M suggested that this model could be replicated to help landowners manage maintenance costs and land cleanliness.
