PSD reaffirms support for San Marino majority while pushing for fiscal reform
The PSD (Social Democratic Party) has issued a statement marking two years of the current legislature in San Marino, reaffirming its commitment to the governing majority while asserting its role as a critical voice.
The party highlighted several legislative achievements, including citizenship reform, family support laws, animal protection, and the renewal of public employment contracts. They also noted the upcoming second reading of end-of-life legislation and the implementation of the ICEE tool for resource distribution.
However, the PSD also signaled internal pressure regarding specific policy areas under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of State for Finance, Marco Gatti. The party is calling for renewed momentum on fiscal reform, specifically regarding VAT, and seeking improvements in the banking sector, including capitalisation and clearer agreements with the Bank of San Marino. This stance follows a recent inquiry by the PSD group into the internal salary structures of the central bank.
