PSD Summer University begins in Castelo de Vide

The 22nd edition of the PSD Summer University has commenced in Castelo de Vide, serving as a political training initiative for approximately 100 selected young people aged 18 to 30. The program covers diverse topics including national, European, and international politics, economy, energy, state reform, education, and culture.

This year's edition features a reduced presence of government members compared to the previous year. While Prime Minister Luís Montenegro is scheduled to close the event on Sunday, the only ministers participating are Paulo Rangel and Margarida Balseiro Lopes. Organizers noted a deliberate effort to avoid turning the event into a mere echo chamber for official government narratives.

The speaker lineup includes various political figures such as Hugo Soares, João Pedro Luís, Paulo Cunha, and Carlos Coelho. Other scheduled participants include former presidential candidate Luís Marques Mendes, former CDS-PP leader Paulo Portas, and former Lisbon Mayor João Soares. The event also emphasizes female leadership, featuring speakers such as Lídia Pereira and Ana Gabriela Cabilhas.
