PSG groundskeeper Jonathan Calderwood faces potential dismissal

Jonathan Calderwood, the head groundskeeper at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) since 2013, is facing a potential dismissal. According to reports from L’Equipe, Calderwood has been summoned to a preliminary interview that could lead to his termination.

The disciplinary procedure follows issues regarding the pitch quality at the Parc des Princes. During the first matchday of Ligue 1, the pitch was deemed unplayable due to fungus exacerbated by a heatwave, forcing the match against Stade Rennais to be moved to Roazhon Park. This incident resulted in a 150,000 euro fine and ongoing disputes regarding the venue for the return fixture.

Additionally, PSG management is reportedly dissatisfied with the pitch's performance, noting that the Parc des Princes ranked fourth in Ligue 1's pitch quality rankings last season, trailing behind Nice, Metz, and Nantes.
