PSG president Nasser Al‑Khelaïfi faces law challenge and clinches €1.1 bn Nike deal

A proposed French law on professional sport seeks to tighten conflict‑of‑interest rules. Article 8 would prohibit a person who both manages a club and owns a media company that buys the league’s TV rights from serving on the Ligue de Football Professionnel board. The law targets PSG president Nasser Al‑Khelaïfi, forcing him to choose between remaining on the LFP board and retaining his role at beIN Media Group.

Separately, Nike has agreed to extend its kit partnership with Paris Saint‑Germain through 2037. The new arrangement raises the annual payment to €100 million, guaranteeing PSG a minimum of €1.1 billion over the contract’s term, reinforcing the club’s commercial revenue despite recent high‑profile player departures.
